In Memory of Martha Bratcher
Martha Bratcher, age 72, was peacefully taken from this life on April 8, 2025, in Carrollton, Kentucky. Born on January 20, 1953, a life marked by determination and resilience was brought to a close.
Throughout her life, Martha was recognized for an uncompromising nature and an ability to make difficult decisions with detachment—choices guided not by emotion. A legacy of perseverance was left behind, along with a family inspired to shape a future grounded in love, kindness, and understanding.
With her passing, the close of an era has quietly arrived. In its place, a new chapter is being embraced—one committed to healing, growth, and the nurturing of a more compassionate world. By those who follow, the cycle of hardship is being met with hope and the promise of transformation.
Martha is survived by her children—Brian Bratcher, Jeff Bratcher (Kelly), Kimberly Granger, Laurie Schock (Frederick), Amanda Vereen, Lloyd Bratcher and 17 grandchildren and one brother TJ Payton and one sister Darlene Tuttle and is preceded in death by Lloyd Horton (partner), Sarah Sculley (daughter), and Jessica Granger (granddaughter).
A private graveside service is to be held on April 14 at 10 am at ioof cemetery Attendance will be limited to family.
In lieu of flowers, donations are kindly requested to be made to the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Kentucky. Alternatively, acts of kindness may be offered in Martha’s memory, continuing the legacy of care that is now entrusted to those she leaves behind.
May peace be hers, and may solace be found in the hope of a brighter future.
