Martha Anne Fields, age 94 of Griffin, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at her daughter's home in Los Angeles where she had made her home for the last seven years.
She was born on April 6, 1931, in Brooks, Georgia. Her parents, Lee Bowers and Myrtie Cox Bowers, husband, Willie M. Fields; and sister, Janice Stewart, all preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Fayette County High School, and former member of New Salem Baptist Church where she was the pianist and organist for over 20 years. She was a member of Griffin First Baptist Church until her move to California.
Survivors include daughter, Denise Fields of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Timothy Fields of Smyrna, Georgia, and Deborah Perez (Rene); sister, Bobby Jean Davis (Darryl) of Dunwoody, Georgia; nephew, David Stewart (Terrie) of Milton, Georgia, Matt Davis (Leann) of Greenville, South Carolina; niece, Cindy Baik (Mahmood) of Tampa, Florida; several nieces and nephews on the Fields side of the family.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Griffin First Baptist Church followed by a funeral service in the Sanctuary. Timothy Fields and Dr. Terry Walton will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
