Martha DeGregorio Godwin
Martha DeGregorio Godwin, born in Pearl River, New York on June 12, 1931 to the late Frank and Stephanie (Fannie) DeGregorio, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She graduated from Pearl River High School, worked for Lederle Labs in their Research Department for many years, and also worked for the Ramapo Central School District. Martha met the love of her life, Robert W. ("Bull") Godwin Jr. and they were married on December 29, 1951. Together, they worked and raised their family in Rockland County. Martha was very active in her community. She was past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Local American Legion and the oldest member of the Fred Eller Post in Monsey, NY. She was also a member of the Pearl River Women's Fire Auxiliary and was dedicated to the St. Margaret's Church CCD program over the years.
Martha was predeceased by her husband Robert W. Godwin Jr., daughter Patricia Jones (Jack), brother Nick DeGregorio (Irene), many nieces and nephews, and her best friend Anne Haller (Joe). She is survived by daughter Eileen G. Blaisdell (Daniel); sons Robert W. Godwin III and John F. Godwin (Dawn); grandchildren Brooks G. Jones (Erica), Daniel M. Blaisdell II (Leigh), Matthew W. Blaisdell (Christine), Chloe A. Godwin, and Isabelle Godwin; great grandchildren Daniel M. Blaisdell III, Michael L. Blaisdell, Charles R. Blaisdell, Liam R. Blaisdell, and Apollo Jones; sister Concetta (Chick) Brown, brother Jack DeGregorio (Gail), and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be made in Martha's name to the Rockland Community College Nursing program or the BOCES Practical Nursing program, as she always had a passion for helping nursing students achieve great success. Her family also wishes to thank the Good Samaritan Hospital staff and Cardiac Care Unit staff for their compassion and the excellent care that Martha received.
