Martha "Pat" Weeks Hale, 85, wife of the late Robert Hale, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024.
Born in Augusta, GA, Pat was the daughter of the late Dr. Richard Bynum Weeks and Mrs. Katherine Hull Weeks of Augusta and St. Simon's Island, Georgia.
Pat is survived by her two children, Martha Poole Miller of Santa Cruz, CA and David Bynum Poole and his wife, Betsy of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Nicholas Miller, Charlie Miller, Weeks Poole, Carlisle Poole, and Hadley Poole; three siblings, Katherine Folkes, Richard Weeks, Miriam Schulman; and several nieces and nephews.
After attending Salem College, Pat made many friends while living in Greenville, SC and Lubbock, TX where she met Bob Hale. Pat then completed her lifelong dream and settled in Landrum, SC on her cherished horse farm. As a part of her love for horses, Pat was a member of the Green Creek Hounds and served as Joint Master for several years. Pat was also a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Tryon, NC where she served on the Altar Guild.
Pat had many friends, horses, dogs (and a few cats), and loved them all dearly. She was greatly loved by all her family and many Friends and will be extremely missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Tryon, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to R.E.I.N. Rescuing Equines In Need by visiting http://www.reinrescue.org.
