Martha Ann (Burlingham) Jaquith, 73, of Old Colony Road, Hyannis, died on July 8, 2005 at Cape Cod Hospital in the village of Hyannis in Barnstable, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She was the wife of the late Russell Edward Jaquith to whom she was married in Marblehead, Massachusetts and who died on July 25, 1993.

Born in Marblehead, Massachusetts on November 20, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Raymond O. Burlingham, a Pittsfield, Massachusetts native, and Ruth A. (Rodgers) Burlingham, a Marblehead native.

Mrs. Jaquith was a devoted and dedicated mother and artist.

She was a graduate of the New England School of Art in Boston.

Since June 1986, she resided at Old Colony Road in Hyannis having moved there from Bourne. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hyannis.

Her legacy will be one of a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Mrs. Jaquith’s favorite times were spent on a boat in the harbor, solving puzzles, and surrounding herself in the presence of art.

As an animal lover, she had a special affection for her beloved felines: Bee-Bee and Nala.

She leaves her four beloved children: Bradlee E. Jaquith of Austin, Texas; Sheryl D. Mueller of Concord, NH; Christine K. Jaquith of Buzzards Bay and Cynthia L. Jaquith of Carlisle; 3 grandchildren; a brother: Rev. Roger Burlingham of Hendersonville, North Carolina; a nephew and a niece.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of Her Life on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Crocker Park, Marblehead, Massachusetts. Her ashes will be spread amongst the waters of Marblehead Harbor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, 1660 L Street NW – Suite 700, Washington, DC 20036 or by calling (800) 872-5827.

I am very sorry to hear of Martha's passing and my thoughts and prayers go out to her children and her brother, Roger. I lived two doors down from the Burlinghams in Marblehead for 25 years and I worked for her father, the Town Engineer, in 1959 and 1960. God Bless.
