Martha Pennington McElmurray

1938 - 2025

Martha McElmurray Entered into rest on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at her residence; Martha Pennington McElmurray, wife of 63 years to the late Bob McElmurray.

Other family members include her sons: R.A. "Andy" McElmurray III, Richard P. McElmurray (Christy), Earl D. McElmurray (Deborah), sister :Mary Ann P. Milligan (Arthur) 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two expected great grandchildren; Mrs. McElmurray was predeceased by her father and stepmother, Fred C and Julie Heisler Pennington and by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Pearre who died when Mrs. McElmurray was six years old. She is also predeceased by two grandsons: Robert Anderson McElmurray IV; Micheal Anderson McElmurray and one great grandson: Drake Anderson Skeens.

Martha was born and raised in Blythe, GA. She attended Blythe Elementary and Hephzibah High School where she enjoyed basketball and music. Martha loved playing the organ and piano. She also enjoyed singing. Two of her favorites were How Great Thou Art and He Walks with Me and He talks with me. Martha was the office manager for family farm, R A McElmurray and Son's. She was a quiet person with a beautiful smile, always a Christian lady.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11 AM at Hephzibah Baptist Church with her nephews and grandson officiating: Pastor's Bryan Matthews, Bob Matthews, and Logan McElmurray. Burial will follow at Hephzibah Vance Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
