Martha Yvonne Pearson

Martha Yvonne Pearson, age 89, of Corydon, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on September 24, 2025.

Yvonne was born on July 11, 1936, in Depauw, Indiana, to Perry and Florence (Gurtz) Smith. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker and found great joy in creating a loving home alongside her husband, William K. Pearson. Together, they made their life in Depauw, IN.

A devout Catholic, Yvonne was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown, IN, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, IN. She was also a proud member of the St. Rita's Altar Society. Her faith, kindness, and service to others were a guiding light throughout her life.

Yvonne had a love for traveling, gardening, and sewing, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William; her parents; six brothers, Charlie Smith, Daniel Wayne Smith, Lawrence "Bill" Smith, Paul Smith, Sheldon "Mutt" Smith, and Virgil Smith; and three sisters, Frances Simon, Elnora Maymon, and Cecelia Stump.

Yvonne leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly: her sons, Jamie Ray Pearson and William Scott Pearson; daughters, Tonda Kay Snyder (Ronnie- who has passed) and Yvette Ann Weathers (Tim); granddaughters, Kristin Duke (John Scott), Natashia (Joe) Wallace, Kiona Pearson, and Natalie (Kyle) Big Medicine; great-grandson, Brendan Wallace; sister-in-law, Irene M. Hall; many cherished nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews as well as a great-grandchild on the way

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Frenchtown, IN.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Bernard Catholic Church.
