Martha "Marty" Lee Schaadt, age 93, of Celina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 9, 1931, in Rockford, Ohio, Marty was the eldest daughter of Inez (Hole) and Kenneth Wollet. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Paul, whom she married on April 23, 1950 and shared 58 cherished years of marriage before his passing in 2008. Together, they built a life centered around their deep commitment to faith, family, and community.
Marty is survived by her two beloved daughters, Rebecca and Paula Schaadt of Celina, and was a proud grandmother to her 3 grandchildren, Sarah Belcher Pittsburgh, PA, Zachary (Molly) Stephenson of Celina, and Susan (Kreshnik) Seiti of Avon Lake, and 6 great grandchildren (Ella and Aiden Belcher, Caleb and Lauren Stephenson, and Adrian and Lucas Seiti.) She was a loving sister to Marianna Sutton and Verna Winkler, and she treasured her relationships with her extended family, including the Sutton, Winkler, Vantilburg, and Morrison families.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marty is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Helen (Harold) Vantilburg.
A woman of kindness, wit, humor, and curiosity, Marty was an avid reader who found joy in every situation. She loved spending time with family and friends, whether at her beloved home, attending family events and activities, traveling, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee or playing cards.
Her home was her sanctuary, where she took great pride in tending to her flowers and garden, always finding peace in the beauty of nature. Above all, Marty was a people person-her doors were always open, and she welcomed family, friends, and guests alike with warmth and generosity.
Marty also had a special place in her heart for her church family, and her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She formed lasting bonds with many members of her church, and her legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Marty's life was a beautiful testament to the values of hard work, integrity, and unconditional love. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
A celebration of Marty's life will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, with Rev. Adam Poe officiating. Friends and community members are invited to join for a visitation 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Private Family burial in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to EverHeart Hospice 1350 N. Broadway St., Greenville, Ohio 45331 or St. John Lutheran Church, Hopewell Township 9009 State Route 118 Celina, Ohio 45822.
