Mrs. Martha Dean Winnette

Mrs. Martha Dean Gilbert Winnette, age 100, of Shelbyville, passed away July 23, 2024, under the loving care and comfort of her family, Hospice Compassus, and the caring and dedicated staff of the Waters of Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Jeff Rasnick will officiate, with burial to follow in Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg.
The family will receive visitors 11 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born April 9, 1924, in Belleville in Lincoln County, to the late Sandford and Elsie Inez Pigg Gilbert. She attended Morgan School in Petersburg and graduated from Shelbyville Central High. She also attended Shelbyville Business College. Her working career included Eureka Pants Company, Dixie Grain and Uniroyal. She married James Winnette in 1947, at Wartrace, and held membership at First Baptist Church for 77 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Winnette, in 2014, and a daughter, Susan Harris, in 2018, brothers and sisters, Sandra Joyce Willoughby, Dub Gilbert, Orelle Scott, Frankie Woodard, and Reba Beasley.
Survivors include a grandson, Christopher Harris, of Shelbyville; great granddaughter, Laken Harris; nieces and nephews, Sherry Lawell, of Shelbyville, Kerry (Debbie) Willoughby, of Nashville, Deedra Burk, of Lewisburg, and Doug (Malinda) Gilbert, of Nashville; numerous great nieces and nephews.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
