UTICA – Martin P. Forte, Jr., age 83, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Born in New Hartford, NY on January 18, 1941, he was the son of the late Martin P. Sr. and Congetta (Beratta) Forte. Martin was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School and Clarkson University.
On April 6, 1960, he wed the former Nancy A. Belmore. The couple shared 55 years together before her passing on August 15, 2015.
While raising his family, Marty worked alongside his father at Foster Paper Company until it closed. He then moved on to CONMED Corporation, retiring in 2005 as a Director of Quality Assurance.
Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He appreciated time at his camp hunting and walking the land with his sons. Marty enjoyed all four seasons as they allowed him to ski, golf, and drive his Corvette
Marty is survived by his children, Dianna and Joseph Carrock, Martin, III and Connie Forte, Dawn Forte and John Campagna, Debra and John Majewski, and Richard and Sharee Forte; his grandchildren, Joseph and Amanda, Anthony; Angela and Budo, Regina and Matt, Lucia and Corey; Vanessa, Paul; Emily; and Anthony. Always close to his heart and remembered by all was his granddaughter, Dawn Elizabeth, who preceded him on November 20, 1999. Close to his heart were his great-grandchildren, Aldin, Alana; Jayden, Dean, and Francesco; his beloved sister, Phyllis Matyevich; and a special cousin, Rick Nicotera. His memory will live on in the heart of his dear friend, Gail Facchini. He is further survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and his "coffee buddies." Marty was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Peter Matyevich; and his sister and brother-in-law Elaine and Dion Shaw Sr.
In keeping with his wishes, the family will celebrate his life privately.

Marty will be deeply missed by all of us! His love of family and corvettes allowed for great conversation. From Marty´s "Coffee Buddies"

To The Forte Family. Marty was our good friend and neighbor in North Utica for many years. We had many good times together....many summer barbecues, our kids always. We were one big family with Marty and Nancy´s door always open to others. Rest in peace, Marty. You and Fred can reminisce about our happy times together.
