Martin 'Marty' F. Harper, 62, of Dunmore, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Lake Sheridan, PA. Marty was born on May 6, 1962, in Scranton, PA, to Albert C. and Claire J. (O'Donnell) Harper. He was a 1980 graduate of Bishop O'Hara High School and Johnson Technical School, as well as an Eagle Scout. He was employed at W.W. National Book Company.

First and foremost, Marty was a gentleman. Marty truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; boating and fishing on Lake Sheridan, drinking good wines and smoking a good cigar, and laughing with family and friends. Marty will be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh. Marty had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way and will be missed and remembered fondly by many.

Marty is survived by his wife, Colleen Harris, his three sisters, Joan Magnotta and husband Fred (Scranton, PA), Karen Santoro and husband Frank (Egg Harbor Township, NJ), and Susan Harper (Dunmore, PA). He is also survived by stepsons Jason Kollra (Leslie) and Kurt Harris (Amy), grandchildren Nash Harris and Maizey Kollra, and nephews Adam Santoro (Candice), Dominic Santoro, and Egan May. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Claire, and his beloved nephew Nicholas Santoro.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Marty touched are invited to a mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue, Scranton, PA, 18510 on Monday, October 28th at 10:00 A.M., with a calling hour from 9:00 A.M. to mass time. The family requests no flowers but in lieu, contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America, 72 Montage Mountain Road, Moosic, PA 18507, and the Ronald McDonald House of Scranton, 332 Wheeler Avenue, Scranton, PA 18510. All are welcome to reminisce, celebrate, and pay their respects.
