Marvin L. Erdmann, age 93, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 7, 2023.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 12,2023 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Alan Guanella and family friend, Deacon Jon will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the church. Entombment will take place following the service At Forest Hill Mausoleum in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Marvin was born on November 21, 1930 to the late Edward and Anna (Bzdawka) Erdmann in Milwaukee, WI. After his mother passed away in his childhood, Marvin was raised by his step-mother Lucille Liberski. He married Elizabeth A. Lang on June 28, 1954 at St. Kilians Catholic Church in Blenker, WI. Marvin served his country as a member of the United States Marines. Professionally, Marvin was a shift supervisor for Preway and Consoweld, retiring in 1990 after 40 years. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed carpentry, snowmobiling, fishing, playing cards, and collecting hats and keychains from his travels. He enjoyed camping and his extensive travels through the United States, Canada, and Europe. Above all else, Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially vacationing in northern Wisconsin.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth; sons, Donald (Elizabeth) Erdmann, Richard (Daren) Erdmann, Charles (Terry) Erdmann, Joseph (Jodi) Erdmann, and Daniel (Mary Pat) Erdmann; brothers, Jack (Sally) Erdmann, and Robert (Marcy) Erdmann; sister, Dorothy Coley; brothers-in-law, Ted Groszczyk, Edward (Delores) Lang, and David Lang; sisters-in-law, Janet (Ray) Henke), and Sharon Lang; 11 grandchildren, Chase, Samantha, Steve, Andrew, Kayla, Kyle, Chad, Ethan, Tyler, Chance, and Wyatt; 8 great-grandchildren, June, Hayden, Lucas, Quinn, Cullen, Alayna, Jesse, and Myles; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother; brother, Edward (Sherry) Erdmann; sisters, Marion (Clarence) Wehr, Lorraine (Mike) Raich, and Carol Groszczyk; and brothers-in-law, Phillip Lang and Winn Coley.
Marvin's family would like to thank the entire staff at Arborview Court and Arborwood Lodge, as well as the Heartland Hospice staff for their kindness and care for Marvin and the entire family.
