Mrs. Mary Ann Abrams, age 73, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at local nursing home.
Mrs. Abrams was born in Rome, GA, on November 22, 1951, daughter of the late Jasper Fairchild and the late Dovie Dutton Fairchild. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia "Cyndi" Abrams, by her brother and his wife, Wilbert and Louise Fairchild, and by a sister and her husband, Faye and Harold Perry. Mrs. Abrams was the owner and operator of Abrams Photography for numerous years and had built quite the reputation. She was a self-taught photographer but once her portfolio was seen, brides would come from Atlanta just to have her take their photos. Mrs. Abrams photographed around 40 weddings a year to go along with countless Senior portraits, Proms, baby photo shoots and other events. When her health allowed, she was a faithful member of Armuchee Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, organized and printed the Sunday bulletins for many years, as well as photographing and producing the church directory.
Above all, Mrs. Abrams was a faithful child of God. She had a servant's heart and to anyone that knew her, it was evident. Mrs. Abrams took care of both parents, her brother and sister-in-law while their heath was failing. All of this on top of making sure her children and husband were taken care of. Mrs. Abrams always wanted to help others and would do anything she could for someone in need. She has now finished her race on this side and Heaven and is rejoicing in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.
Survivors include her loving husband, Wayne Abrams, Rome, to whom she was married for over 56 years; 3 children, Chris Streetman, Amanda Abrams, and Susanne Abrams; 9 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Lloyd Gilreath will officiate the service.
The family would like to extend love and appreciation to all the staff at Winthrop Health & Rehabilitation for caring for Mary as they would their own.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to one of Mrs. Abrams 3 favorite organizations; the Boys Town Organization, the Wounded Warrior Project, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Mary Ann Abrams.
