Graveside service for Mary Ann Cheek Matthews, 84, of Godley, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 5, 2024, in George’s Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the funeral home.
Mary Ann passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, in Stephenville. She was born in Cleburne, Texas on July 13,1940 to Walter L. & Roxie (Love) Cheek. Mary Ann married James Matthews on June 20, 1958, in Cleburne. She was a banker for 30+ years & loved meeting people. She was a member of the Godley Church of Christ.
Mary Ann is survived by daughter, Julie Davidson & husband Del of Stephenville; grandchildren, Bobby Matthews of Keene, Steven Matthews and Scarlet of Cleburne & Kendall Nabours and Justin of Glen Rose; great-grandchildren, Ryder Nabours, Abi Matthews, Kyle Matthews, Hunter Nabours & Lincoln Matthews and they were her absolute joy; sisters, Janice Griffin and Danny & Wanda Waggoner. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews & many friends.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband James Matthews, in 2019; son, Jason Matthews, in 2017; her parents & brother Dean Cheek.
Memorials can be made to: Meals on Wheels or Georges Creek Cemetery.
