Mary Ann (Wendinger) Domeier, age 87, of Fairfax passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at the River Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Redwood Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Fairfax.
The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary on Wednesday, October 11, at 4 pm at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home - NORTH Chapel and continue from 9:30 – 10:30 am on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mary Ann is survived by her; children, Kenneth (Gwen) Wendinger, Connie Rorvig, Bonnie Wendinger, Penny (Rodney) Knutson, Pat Wendinger, Lonnie (Laura) Wendinger and Gene (Katie) Wendinger; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Berdan; sister-in-law, JoAnn Gitter and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wendinger.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Eugene Wendinger; husband, Donald Domeier; son, Gregory Wendinger; siblings, Joan (Sylvester) Fischer, Philip Gitter, Delores (Otto) Lamacker and Phyllis (Willard) Portner; brother-in-law, Arnold Berdan; son-in-law, Steve Rorvig and granddaughter-in-law, Nicole Wendinger.
Mary Ann Gitter was born February 5, 1936 to Joseph Gitter Jr. and Mary (Klingler) Gitter in West Newton Township. She attended school in St. George. She was united in marriage to Eugene Wendinger on June 16, 1954 at St. George Catholic Church. After marriage the couple lived on their farm in Bandon Township where they raised their family. The couple loved to go dancing together and were very active members of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Eugene passed away in 1985. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Donald Domeier on September 21, 2002 at the Divine Providence Chapel in Sleepy Eye. Donald passed away in 2022. Mary Ann was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, St. Anne's Society, Christian Mother's and the Fairfax Lioness Group. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing and quilting and helping on the farm but above all else she loved to spend time with her family. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
