Mary L. Appler

Mary L. (Weaver) Appler, age 90, of New Oxford, passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer A. Appler who passed away in 2002.
Mary was born in Brushtown, PA on August 15, 1934 the daughter of the late Ralph and Lesbia (Geesey) Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her son Mark A. Appler who passed away in 2020. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Oxford. An avid bowler, Mary enjoyed Dominos with the girls, time spent with her family and working outdoors. Graced with an exceptional character, Mary will be remembered by all that knew her as a woman of strength and beauty.
Mary is survived by her children Vicki Koehler and husband Eckhard of Hanover and Michael Appler and companion Susan Fleshman of McSherrystown; her grandchildren Katlyn Walz, Kieran Koehler, and Tristan Koehler; and her great-grandchildren Avery May and Milo. She is also survived by her sisters Martha Bechtel of Hanover and Patricia Kesselring of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers Burnell Weaver, Charles Weaver, Jay Weaver, and Robert Weaver; and her sisters Lois Jacoby and Nancy Musselman.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Mary's life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00AM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with Rev. Keith A. Carroll, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover. Viewings will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM and on Tuesday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM both at the funeral home.
