Mary Ann Barker Jackson

Mary Ann Barker Jackson, age 84, of Rome passed away on July 26, 2025, at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Rome, GA on June 12, 1941. She is the daughter of the late Joe Roy Nichols and the late Leona Branton Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Lonnie Barker, her brother, Carl "Cop" Nichols, her 3 sisters, Mildred Shelley, Martha Mormon and Imogene Marbut, and her great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Rampley.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Jackson was employed with Berry College Food Service for several years and also worked for many years at Midway School. At other times she was an exceptional homemaker and seamstress, and she was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of State Line Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Doyle Jackson, Rome; her son Mike Barker (Pam), LaFayette; her daughter, Marcell Rampley (Jeff), Rome; 3 step-sons, Jim Jackson (Lori), Rome, Greg Jackson, Lindale, and Bob Jackson, Lindale; a step-daughter, Melanie Garrett, Lindale; 2 granddaughters, Mallory Duke (Chad), Hiram, Morgan Rampley (Curt), Cedar Bluff, AL, 2 grandsons, Matt Barker, LaFayette, Devin Barker (Samantha), LaFayette; step-grandchildren Anna Garrett, Rome and CJ Garrett (Jadi), Cartersville; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30 at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Chris Hearne officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 12pm until 1:45pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.
Pallbearers will include her son-in-law, Jeff Rampley, her grandsons, Matt Barker and Devin Barker, her great-grandson Cooper Barker, and her grandsons-in-law Chad Duke and Curt Tucker.
Honorary pallbearers will include Larry Mormon, Jackie Highfield, Bradley Highfield, Greg Jackson, Bob Jackson, Jim Jackson and CJ Garrett.
