Mary Christine Baumann, a beloved mother, devoted spouse, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on March 7, 1945, in Glens Falls, NY, she was a vibrant spirit whose love for life touched everyone she met.
Mary was the heart of her family, a great mom who dedicated herself to her loved ones. She and her husband William lived a life of love and excitement. Throughout her life, Mary exemplified the balance of hard work and joy. She spent many years as a sales associate and was known for her friendly demeanor and commitment to her customers. Prior to that, Mary worked as a bartender, where she made lasting friendships that lasted a lifetime. Mary had several skills which allowed her to spend time working in construction in Washington, D.C., as well as a security guard in Maryland. Her life revolved around working with the public and helping anyone out who needed it.
She had a zest for life that shone through in her many hobbies. She loved fishing, playing pool, and enjoying darts with friends, spending countless hours sharing laughter and creating memories. A true lover of the outdoors, she found joy in boating, effortlessly embracing the beauty of nature. Though she lived in places like Wyoming, Maryland, and Virginia, but her heart always led her back to her cherished home in Plattsburgh.
Mary will be remembered not just for her spirited personality but for the warmth and kindness she brought to those around her. Her adventurous spirit and her commitment to family will forever be celebrated and missed.
She was preceded in death by her son Gerald Mangum, Jr. and Bryan Mangum; as well as her brother Jimmy LaVergne.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Baumann; her daughter Robin Davis; three grandchildren, Cory Cereske, Damion Cereske, and Chaze Cereske; three great-grandchildren, Bay Cereske, Leo Cereske, and Roman Cereske; and her brother Bill LaVergne.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Mary will be held on January 20, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 3 Carmel Drive in Plattsburgh.
Arrangements were entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
