Mary Elizabeth Benoit, 67, of Quincy formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by the love, comfort and care of her family following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Dorchester where she was a communicant of St. Gregory's parish, Mary attended St. Gregory's school, graduating in 1975. She graduated from Framingham St. College (now Framingham State University) in 1979 with a degree as a Registered Dietitian working for many years at the former Carney Hospital before accepting positions with a long-term care facilities, the last of which being Alliance Health at Marina Bay.It was during her time at Carney Hospital that she met the love of her life, John, and the two were married in 1977, eventually settling in Quincy in 1981.

She was also a longtime supporter and member of the North Quincy Football Boosters, having three sons who went through the North Quincy High football program.
For as much joy as she found in her work and church life, her favorite times were those spent with her loving family; especially her three grandchildren, whom she adored.

John, I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out today about Mary's passing. I am sorry that I missed the visitation/funeral yesterday. (I am not very good at checking my VM.)

You were lucky my friend, she was a wonderful woman. Absolutely one of the nicest people on this Earth!

We are thinking of you all during this tough time. My mother (Marie) always spoke so highly of her and had wonderful memories at Carney. I like to think they are now at peace together xo

Dear Benoit family. I´m so sorry for your loss. Mary was the most amazing person. Mary was one of a kind. God truly blessed her with so many talents which was happy to share with all of those around her. I truly believe that Mary helped bring many people closer to God because they could see God at work in Mary. Mary helped so many people including my family in our time of need. To know Mary was to love Mary. She had so much love, support and compassion for everyone around her. Mary left the world a better place. The world could use a lot more people like Mary. I will never ever forget Mary. I´m certain that upon Mary´s arrival in heaven she heard Jesus say
"Well done good and faithful servant." God bless!!!
