Mary Joyce Bishop passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on January 14, 1933 to the late Tommy and Carrie Fowler Jett.
She was a member of West End Baptist Church and a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Joyce loved spending time with her family and fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Bishop; daughter, Judy Kennedy; sons, Joel Bishop and Gregg Bishop; brother, Doc Jett and William Jett; and sisters, Catherine Lawson and Fannie Mae Loving.
Joyce is survived by her son, Chris Bishop of Pauline; brother, Gene Jett of Glendale; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Rd, Roebuck, SC 29376.
Graveside services will be 4:00pm on Friday, March 21, 2025 in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S Church St Ext, Roebuck, SC 29376.
