Mary Catherine "Kay" Boerner, 80, left us on Friday September 26th, 2025 after a 7 year battle with Alzheimer's. She was born to us on October 30th, 1944 and was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Ann Fernandez and brother-in-law James D. Murphy. Mary Kay is survived by her husband, Richard L. Boerner, 3 children - Debbie Boyer (Joe McKibben and son Luke), Deanna Maynard (Husband Randy, sons Sean and Matthew (wife Amber, children Maddie and William), and Tom Graham (wife Heather, sons Noan, Colin, Evan, and Nicholas), along with sisters Barbara Murphy and Debby Sheely (husband Rich), and many nieces and nephews. Mary Kay was a ray of sunshine in times of darkness, a warm hug on a cold day. She was vaccinated with a phonograph needle (per her father), was always there with the best advice or a shoulder to lean on. Her love and compassion left an indelible mark on this earth and we who knew her were all better people to have had her in our life. At her request, there will be no public services or showings, family proceedings will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, we would ask all donations be forwarded to the Alzheimer's' Foundation of America in her name.
