Mary Elizabeth (Freeze)(Welch) Calorio departed Patriot Healthcare in Paris, Tennessee on February 12th, 2025 on her last journey from this earth. Ever the professional hotelier her room was ready in the eternal kingdom, and her reservation was fulfilled. Those anxiously awaiting her arrival include her parents, Aline and Henry Freeze, daughters, Linda Sue and Pamela Sue Welch, son, Daryl Welch, Sister Phillis Freeze, brother, Charles Freeze, and loving husband Anthony Calorio. Those remaining here who love and will miss her presence include sister, Bonnie Cardwell, sons, Mark and Clay Welch, daughters, Sarah Welch and Christina Calorio, and twelve grandchildren. As a graduate of Coffee County Central High School, she worked her way through the hospitality industry starting as a housekeeper for the local Days Inn in Manchester with her mother, Aline as the housekeeping supervisor. Despite her humble beginning, Mary rose to be the general Manager of Elvis Pressley's Heartbreak Hotel, Chairmen of the Memphis Hotelier Board, and the 2015 Tennessee Hospitality and Tourism Association's Hotelier of the year. Her last professional posting was at the LaQuinta Inn from which she retired in August of 2024. Throughout the course of her career her travels have taken her throughout Tennessee, to Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. With her hospitality, grace, and generosity, she has impacted the lives of many, was quick to make friends, and will be sorely missed by many. Visitation on Monday February 17th at 11 o'clock with chapel services to follow at 1 o'clock and internment at Rose Hill Cemetery to conclude the service.
