Mary Casamento, 102, passed away on November 6, 2025, in Livingstone Nursing Home, Mount Morris, NY.
Mary Casamento was born on May 17, 1923 in Garfield, NJ, to Joseph and Cira Tantillo Casamento and she attended schools there. She started her career as a hand sewer for Gordon's Dress shop until her retirement in 1978. She was an active communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Being a devout catholic, Mary could be seen praying her rosary every day.
Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews, Philip and his wife, Venus Casamento, Joseph and his wife, Barb Casamento, Kenneth Sogaro, Raymond Sogaro, Linda Hoffman and Diana Sogaro Corrado and her husband, Tom; her great nieces and great nephews, Tyler and Jason Sogaro Patti, Hollie Casamento and Johnny, Amy and Mark Gottermeier, Andrea Serach, Deborah and Dale Pinto, Renee and Kevin Scaley and Tricinda S.; her great great nieces and great great nephews, Dean, Chase, Evan, Isabella, Amber , Maci and Jessica and Alex and several cousins. Mary is preceded in death by her brothers and their wives, Joseph and Julia Casamento, Carmello and Rose Casamento, Walter and Marie Casamento and her sister, Vivian Sogaro.
Her funeral will be held, Friday, November 14, 2025 at 10:30 where a will be celebrated by the Rev. Justin Thomas, pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
