Catherine Carpenter
Herkimer - Catherine Carpenter, 90, of Herkimer passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025 in the Wynn Hospital.
She was born in Herkimer, New York, on June 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elvira Piscione Cartagirone, and she attended and graduated from Herkimer High School. She was married to Henry Carpenter on November 24, 1951, in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Henry passed away on January 21, 1991.
Catherine was a Cosmetologist for Munger's Beauty Salon and later was the owner and operator of As You Like It Beauty Salon, Herkimer, NY. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church.
Catherine is survived by one son, Michael Carpenter; one brother, John Cartagirone of Maryland; two sisters, Tina Caiola of Frankfort, and Mary Conklin of Herkimer, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Joanna, and one brother, Vincent.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St., Herkimer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, NY.
