Mary Dolores Castillo, 89, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday morning, March 19, 2025 at UTMB Hospital.
Mary was an only child and a lifelong resident of Galveston Island until recently. She was a graduate of Ball High School and worked at Eiband's Department Store in the shoe department and retired after 35 years at American National Insurance Company. Mary was a very generous and giving person and was always willing to help if she could. Her interests included reading, crocheting and taking walks along the Strand in Galveston. Mary always greeted the day with a smile and a wonderful attitude and was grateful for every day she was here. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by everyone she knew.
Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Andrea Castillo and father, Frank Castillo. She is survived by a son, Albert Castillo, daughter-in-law, Sheri Castillo, grandson, Erik Castillo, and numerous relatives and friends.
Mary's family will receive visitors beginning at 5 pm Wednesday, March 26, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 6:30pm.

Al your mother was the sweetest most giving person I have ever known. I am so sorry I was not able to attend the services. I had a 7 day pre planned cruise. She raised you to be a wonderful young man. Blessing to you and you family. Yours truly Dianne Druilhet Lundy
