Mary Martha Semon Choma, a treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beloved sister, aged 82, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, in Fairmont, WV. Born in Morgantown, WV, on December 6, 1942, to the late Joseph Semon and Julia Josephine Mitchell Semon, Mary's life was a testament to her resilient spirit and the joy she brought to the lives of those around her.
Those who knew Mary best would describe her as a profoundly interesting individual - a woman whose conversations were rich with insights and whose presence was a source of comfort. She possessed a grace and warmth that drew people to her, along with a lively sense of humor that remained undiminished by time.
Mary's life was enriched by her dear family. She leaves behind loving memories with her children, Lisa Choma (William Osburn) and William Choma; her sister, Carolyn Semon; and her grandchildren, Joseph Choma, James Raddish, and Jakob Raddish (Whittany Herrington). Mary was particularly delighted by her role as a great-grandmother to Brayden Choma and Jovie Raddish.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Semon; her mother, Julia Josephin Mitchell Semon; and her brother, Joseph Semon, whose memories provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.
Mary's life was a beautiful patchwork of dedication, affection, and service. Her memory will live on in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the wisdom imparted. May we all find solace in knowing that her indomitable spirit and remarkable legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
