She was born on March 13,1941 in Peoria, Illinois, the second of five daughters. She is survived by her four sisters: Jayne Sullivan, Maureen Stickel, Christine Chilcot and Constance Shea.
She went to St. Marks Elementary School, then worked as a nurses aide for OSF St. Francis Medical Center for 32 years only missing 1 day of work. Karen loved Notre Dame football, her Chicago Cubs and North Carolina Panthers. She had a wonderful life with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her very much much. Karen will be dearly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Resurrection Mausoleum on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:30 AM with Father Luke Spannagel officiating. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum where Karen will be laid to rest with her loving parents T.C. and Irene Grimm Colgan.
Friends and family are encouraged to log onto www.wrightandsalmon.com to sign the online guestbook, submit photos and share Karen's memorial page via social media.
