Michael "Mic" Lancanski, age 93, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 at his home in Peoria, IL.

Mic was born on February 27, 1932, in Peoria, IL, a son of Nikola and Stana Lacanski. He married Yoko Dwyer on May 19, 1966, in Peoria. Surviving is their daughter, Tamara (Mark) Cox of Peoria, two brothers; Steve (Carol) Lacanski of Peoria and Lewie Lacanski of Heber, Arizona, one sister; Marina (Carl) Heinisch of DeKalb, Illinois, 3 granddaughters; Remi (Lee) Cassels of Crawfordville, Florida, Reese Boyd of Tallahassee, Florida, and Reagan Boyd of Tampa, Florida, 2 great granddaughters; Harper Cassels and Kennedy Cassels of Crawfordville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, two brothers, and wife, Yoko on July 24, 2025.

Mic proudly served and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving from January 5, 1951 to November 4, 1954. He was a sheet metal worker for Ruyle Corporation, retiring in 1994. He was a 60-year member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #1.

Per Mic's wishes, no services will be held. Cremation Rites have been accorded and burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autism Foundation.
