Mary Bridget (Burke) David passed away on August 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was 64. Mary was born on May 8, 1961 in Hartford, CT, the eldest daughter of Edmond and Mary (Downes) Burke and was raised in Newington. Mary graduated from Newington High School in 1980 and began her career in the medical field as a CNA, eventually becoming an EMT and then a Medical Assistant. She moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 20 years before moving back to CT where she met the love of her life, Victor David, whom she married in 2005. There was nothing Mary loved more than enjoying a glass of wine at their lakefront escape at the Lake Williams Campground in Lebanon, CT, where they hosted many memorable family gatherings. Mary will be remembered as fiercely loyal to her family and friends.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Victor; mother Mary; sisters Kathleen Spencer, and Eileen (Michael) Grabowski; nieces Shannon (Jay) Pabon and Morgan Grabowski; nephews Mark (Kelly) Fusco, and Griffin Grabowski; her cherished great nephews; and many relatives and friends in both the U.S. and Ireland. Mary is predeceased by her father, Edmond (Eddie).
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mary's family on Thursday, August 28th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duksa Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church.
