It is with both sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Mary Margaret DeBree, who left us peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 15, 1940, Mary lived a vibrant and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many.
Mary dedicated over 50 years to her passion for interior design, retiring in June 2025. She was revered for her impeccable eye for beauty and detail. Her creativity and distinctive style transformed countless spaces and left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with her.
She was a loving mother to her daughter, Robin Zorn, son-in-law, Bob, and son Wayne DeBree. And a cherished grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, Mary Taylor Zorn, Annlen Carson and her husband Patrick Carson. Mary's warmth, kindness, and unwavering support extended especially to her many friends and family whose lives she brightened.
A woman of many interests, Mary loved playing bridge with her friends, going to lunch and shopping with her granddaughters, attending concerts, and enjoying the many plays at the Aurora Theater as a season ticket holder. She had a zest for life and treasured her travels-from the sun-kissed shores of Hilton Head to the peaceful beauty of the Highlands of North Carolina.
Mary's spirit will live on in the laughter of her family, the memories of her friends, and the beauty she brought into the world.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bernhard Kroll and Marie Kroll.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 4:00 pm in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory. Inurnment will be held at Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will gather prior to the service with friends beginning at 2:30 pm. All who knew her are welcome to join us in honoring her remarkable life and the joy she brought to so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Camp Braveheart with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - a gesture that would have brought Mary immense joy.
Mary Margaret DeBree's legacy of love, creativity, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
