Mary Margaret Draper

Mary Margaret Draper, 79, of Mooresville, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the Franciscan Hospice House. She was born on July 10, 1946, in Indianapolis to the late Vivian and Hazel (Toney) Chapman.

Mary attended Arsenal Technical High School and later earned her GED. She devoted 20 years of her working life as a cook at Gray Brothers Cafeteria in Mooresville, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Mary had a creative spirit and found joy in sewing and crocheting. She was beautiful and fiery, with a personality as warm as it was strong. She especially loved listening to the rain and treasured the time she spent with her family.

Mary will be deeply missed by her family including her husband of 57 years, Charles Draper; children, Diane Draper, Teresa McDougal (Stephen), and Charles Draper ll (Stacey); grandchildren, Cody Sweet (Morgan), Dale Sweet, Ashley Sweet, Zach McDougal, Patience Jones, Alex Draper, Kristin Draper, and Devon Draper; great-grandchildren, Kynlee, Drakelynn, Riley, Madison, David, Conner, Torben, Liam, Kyra; and a brother, Joseph Chapman (Debbie).

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by 11 siblings.

Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.
