Mary Jane Eischeid, the daughter of George and Barbara (Krall) Chapman was born on April 4, 1924, in Spencer, IA. She was raised and received her early education in Spencer.
Mary was united in marriage to Leonard Eischeid on September 4, 1948. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Spencer. Leonard and Mary owned and operated the North Y Livestock Auction for many years, which is now the Spencer Livestock Auction and Sales. Mary was involved in all aspects of the business. A favorite memory, on Friday’s when the sales were done, all the grandkids that were there would jump in her car and she would take them to her cottage at the lakes.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of the Altar Society and helped on the wedding committee. She would also make cream cheese mints if the brides asked. She was also active member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
Mary passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer at the age of 100.
