A visitation for Kim Eischeid, of Algona, will be held Tuesday, December 30th, from 4 to 6 PM at Oakcrest Funeral Services of Algona, with a funeral service beginning at 6 PM with Deacon David Penton of Divine Mercy Parish officiating. Family inurnment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Algona.
Kim Colleen Eischeid was born December 14, 1957, in Emmetsburg, daughter of Harold and June (Sabin) Opheim. She grew up in Algona graduating from Algona High School in 1976.
Kim was married to Steve Krug and to this union three sons were born, Darin, Shane, and Dylan. They later divorced. In earlier years Kim worked for Pioneer Seeds in Algona and then for many years she worked as a cook for the Algona Community Schools until her retirement. Kim married Merlin Eischeid on May 19, 1990, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived and farmed west of Algona.
Kim loved being with her family and her close friends and relaxing at the lake. She enjoyed cooking, she loved animals, especially her cats, Piper and Winston. Kim was obsessed with online shopping at QVC!
Kim C. Eischeid died Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, at the age of 68.
She is survived by her three sons, Darin Krug of Algona, Shane (Nicole) Krug of Ames, and Dylan Krug of Ames; two stepsons, and two step grandsons, Mark (Carol) Eischeid of Algona and Steve Eischeid of Algona and his sons, Seth and Jordan Eischeid. She is also survived by a sister, Cindy (Bruce) Ostwald of Whittemore; a brother, Jim (Cindy) Opheim of Fairmont, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Merlin on February 26, 2022.
