Mary Gilmer Obituary

She was a devoted member of Whiteheads Grove Baptist Church and Bacon's Castle Baptist Church. She was a loving "Mimi" to her grandchildren and was always willing to babysit.
She is predeceased by her husband John Thomas Gilmer, her parents, and her brother Otis Lankford Jr.
She is survived by her children Shirley Melissa Crumpler, John "Wayne" Gilmer, James Kevin Gilmer, and Charles Thomas Gilmer; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday September 19, 2025 at 1:00PM at Whiteheads Grove Baptist Church (18366 Benns Church Blvd, Smithfield, VA 23430). A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2:00pm in the church cemetery.
R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory Downtown Suffolk Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
