Mary Goggans Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 12, 2023.
Mary Love Goggans, 79, of The Woodlands, TX passed from this life at 8:35AM Monday the 4th of September, 2023. She was born in Dallas, TX Tuesday the 29th of February, 1944. Mary was the youngest of four children (Bobby Mae, VeeRoy, and Margaret) to William Love James and Lilly Mae James. Mary's primary career was as a waitress at Kirby's Steakhouse in Dallas, TX for 21 years – her most notable patron being Clint Eastwood.
Mary is survived by her two children Magnus "Dutch" Peter Ruthenborg IV of Dallas, TX and Lisa Biles-Liberato of Magnolia, TX, her grandchildren Summerlin, Aaron, Nicholas, great grandchild Alexander, and nephew Bob Zipperer.
Colloquially Mary was known as Maw-Maw or Mary Love. Those who knew and loved her would describe her as conversationally engaging, quick-witted, opinionated, funny, and overwhelmingly caring. The latter trait cannot be understated, Mary loved her family more than anything. In the final years leading to Mary's passing, it was her love of time with her family which gave her the motivation to fight and beat breast cancer. Mary's empathy and care for others was overwhelming. She wanted nothing more than her circle of influence to be happy and taken care of.
To honor Mary's legacy, we ask everyone to write your favorite brief story or stories involving her and email to the below email address [email protected]. We will be compiling them and commemorating her story as told by those who knew and loved her.
