MARY Elizabeth GOODMAN
SUNRISE : OCTOBER 30. 1955
SUNSET : AUGUST 29,2025
Mary Elizabeth Goodman was born on October 30, 1955, in Denison, TX, as the ninth child of ten siblings born to Francis Lezal Carr McKinney. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, six brothers (William Carr, Willie Earl Carr, Willie Wade Carr, Johnny Raymond Carr, Richard Dean Carr, and Francis Louise Carr-Wilson), her husband Ronnie Madden of Sherman, and her son Jerome Goodman and great-grandson Princeton Kimbrough.
Mary attended both Denison and Sherman High School, graduating in 1975 from Sherman High. She was an avid sports fan, playing softball in her youth and being a diehard Cowboys fan later in life. Mary loved playing dominoes, cards, and bingo. She worked for Folgers Coffee in Sherman in the late 70s and early 80s but later spent nearly 20 years at Wyatt's Cafeteria. Mary loved to cook, and she and her mother could not stay in the kitchen cooking at the same time due to their competitive nature.
Mary is survived by her brothers Wiley Goodman and Charles Goodman, and her sister Pam Fullylove. She leaves behind four children: Felicia (Fefe) Isabel, Pamela (Blacky) Goodman, Shaunquita (Shakyshaun) Goodman, and Jason (Jayboy) Goodman. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Jasmine, Javon, Shaylonda, Shacorian, Isaiah, Mackenzie, and Natalie, and two great-grandchildren: Naomi, Victory and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mary was a compassionate sister, loving mother, loyal friend, considerate auntie, and cousin who will be missed for many reasons. She always tried to stay in contact with friends and family, and those out-of-the-blue calls just to check on you will be missed. Those Sunday and family dinners will also be missed, but the love she left behind that reached the hearts of those she loved and who loved her will remain. As long as it does, so shall she. As we reflect on her life and memories, we must understand that we die to live forever, and how we die is more important than how we lived. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, for they shall cease from their labors, and their works do follow them. God Bless and be encouraged everyday God allows you to be here.
A memorial service will be Friday, September 5th at 1 P.M. at the Daniel House of Deliverance CME Church, 2002 S East St, Sherman, TX, with Host Pastor Rev. Anthony Johnson officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to James E. Smith and the professionals of Waldo Funeral Home. You may sign the online guestbook at waldofuneralhome.com.
