Mary Lee Gorrell

Mary Lee Gorrell, 84, of Oklahoma City, passed away on August 5, 2022.
She was born February 25, 1938, in Thomas, Oklahoma. Mary Lee married her husband, Neil Gorrell, on August 25, 1957. They were married for 49 beautiful years. Together they had three children, Sherry, Ronnie and Jana.
While raising her children, she returned to college to obtain a bachelor s degree in Psychology from Central State University, and then proceeded to obtain her Master s degree from the University of Oklahoma in Social Work in 1980. Mary Lee proudly worked for over 20 years as a clinical social worker through the SHARE program at St. Anthony s Hospital, as well as providing her services to those in need through her private practice.
Mary Lee lived her life in color and filled every room she entered with her infectious laugh. Her sense of humor and her bright, caring personality resulted in a life full of many friendships. She loved music of all kinds and was often found playing tunes loudly as she spent her weekends keeping her impeccably clean home in order. Every Christmas, Mary Lee could be found at the piano playing many holiday hits, including her trademark rendition of Winter Wonderland.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Gorrell; her son, Ronnie Gorrell; her sister, Lois McPherron; her brother, Herbert Taylor; and her parents Grady and Amelia Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Sullivan and husband, Rusty; her daughter, Jana Adams and husband, Jeff; granddaughter, Krista Allison; granddaughter Kandi Nagel and husband, Rick; granddaughter Emily Bigley and husband, Jason; granddaughter, Amy Sullivan; grandson, Zach Adams; granddaughter Taylor Adams; and grandchild Lee Adams; and many beloved nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Services for Mary Lee Gorrell are to be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the chapel at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, Oklahoma.
