Mary E. Hartzell, 86, of Wampum, PA, formerly of New Castle passed away the evening of October 3, 2024 at her residence.
Born in New Castle on November 20, 1937, Mary was the daughter of the late Andrew Fundoots and Mary Fundoots.
She is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-eights years, Donald Hartzell.
Mary had been an active former member of the Wampum Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher and member of their Christian Woman's Group. Mary had also participated in making handmade teddy bears through Jameson Hospital. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Mary's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her two daughters, Jodi Estock and Dawn Hartzell, three sisters, Jean Nevotne, Eleanor Kendell (Jim) and Patsy Eichllitz (Ron); three step-sisters Jackie Johns, Sherry Lynn Vetone and Joyce; seven grandchildren, Jason, Marybeth, Donald Harland, Autumn, Timothy, Jessica, and Mark, twelve great-grandchildren, Ava, Aiden, JD, Markie, Emily, Cora, Greyson, Mack, Dakota, Tanner, Paisley, and Presley and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Canami and step-sister Janice.
Visitation will be Wednesday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A service will follow on Wednesday at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Nero officiating.
Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
