Funeral services for Mary Beth Hatten, 89, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Jason Lott. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home.
Mary Beth Christian Hatten passed away October 13, 2024, in Nacogdoches. She was born April 15, 1935, to the late Robert and Evangeline Christian in Nacogdoches.
Mary Beth enjoyed time with her family and friends. She lived in Houston for a number of years where she worked as a paralegal. She moved back to Nacogdoches to retire. During her retirement, she volunteered at Nacogdoches Medical Center. Mary Beth was a member of University Baptist Church.
Mary Beth is survived by her children Cecelia Gauntt and Tony Hurst & wife, Caroline; grandchildren, Eric Hurst, Justin Gauntt, Amber (Gauntt) McBride & husband, Brian, Christian Hurst & wife, Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Karen Vrazel & husband, Blake, Kaden Gauntt, Elizabeth Gauntt, and Lucas McBride; great-great-grandchild, Charlotte Champon.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, "Bud" Hatten; sister, Robline Lumpkin; brother, James Christian; and son-in-law, Ronald Gauntt.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Gauntt, Kaden Gauntt, Brian McBride, Christian Hurst, Lucas McBride, and Warren Schmidt.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org or the charity of your choice.
