Mary Ann Hinderliter

Mary Ann (Russell) Hinderliter, 78, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away February 21, 2025 at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville. She was born January 7, 1947 in Mt. Vernon, IN to the late, Eugene Allyn and Mary Agnes (Mattingly) Russell.
Mary Ann married the love of her life, April 16, 1966 and was a devoted wife to, Paul Hinderliter. She graduated MVHS Class of 1965. She attended Lockyear Business College and ISUE (USI). Mary Ann was a member of First Christian Church. She was blessed with great work experiences where she developed lasting friendships and memories including Mt. Vernon Democrat, GE Sheet Customer Service and MV Water Works.
She showed kindness to everyone she encountered, always rooting for the underdog. Mary Ann took great pride in being a member of the Democratic Party. She loved all animals and treated her little Nonie like a princess. Mary Ann could usually be found reading, was a terrific cook, was interested in genealogy and an avid gardener. She enjoyed keeping in touch with lifelong friends and would always be there with encouraging words.
She was preceded in death by her, parents; grandchild, Carter Hinderliter; great grandchild, Layton Reich; and niece, Amy Money.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul; she was a very proud mother to, Jeanne (Tim) Schmidt, Jason (Alena) Hinderliter, and Jodi (Kenny) Gross. She was the best Mimi to her treasures: grandchildren, Kelci Gross (Dalton McGuirt), Kara (Curt) Smith, Taylor Schmidt, and Emma Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Aether, Adilyn, Avalynn, Paisley, Camden, Tatum, Leilla, Jameson, Walker, and Natalie-Rose. Mary Ann leaves behind 3 sisters with whom she shared a close bond, Deloris Russell, Jenny Campbell, and Becky (Bruce) Wells. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends considered family to her. She loved her people with all her heart.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
