Mary S. Hoover

Mary S. Hoover, 96, a resident of the Lincoln Christian Home, Ephrata, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025.
She was the wife of the late John H. Hoover. Born in Murrell, Lancaster County, on January 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillie Sensenig Bicher.
She was a member of Springville Mennonite Church. In her early years she worked in a sewing factory. For many years she was a homemaker and had a small dairy farm. She was greatly loved by her family. The caretakers at the Lincoln Christian Home enjoyed having her as a resident.
Mary is survived by 4 children, Marlin R. Weaver of Stevens, Leon P., husband of Leah Fay (Groff) Weaver of Denver, Janice E., wife of Phares Zeiest of Narvon, Aaron R., husband of Louise (Martin) Weaver of Denver; 9 step children, Esther Mae Eberly of Ephrata, Daniel W., husband of Verna H. (Martin) Hoover of Schaefferstown, Leonard W., husband of Lillian (Anderson) Hoover of Stevens, Mary E., wife of Raymond Martin of Lititz, Emma, wife of Levi Brubaker of Ephrata, Erma, wife of Amos Reiff of Ephrata, John J., husband of Dorothy (Martin) Hoover of Blain, Julia, wife of Lamar Hoover of Stevens, Miriam, wife of Jay Showalter of Ephrata; 15 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; 53 step grandchildren; 253 step great-grandchildren; and 199 step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Aaron H. Weaver; a son, Alvin R. Weaver; a daughter-in-law, Edith Weaver (wife of Marlin); 1 great -grandchild; 1 step grandchild; 1 step great-grandchild; a step son-in-law, Paul Eberly (husband of Esther Mae); and 8 siblings, Emma Eberly, Minnie Bicher, Ada Eberly, Jacob Bicher, Elsie Eberly, Edna Eberly, Henry Bicher, Jr., and Warren Bicher.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 5 to 8 PM at the Middle Creek Reception Center, 520 Route 897, Reinholds. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, 10:00 AM at the Springville Mennonite Church, 580 Springville Rd, Ephrata.
Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
