Mary Patricia Jacobson, 78, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Aspen Health and Rehab in South Range, WI. She was born in Duluth, MN, on July 17, 1945, the daughter of Helen (Notton) and Andre St. Amour.
Mary Pat graduated from Cathedral High School, class of 1964, and furthered her education to become a nurse's aide. She worked at St. Joseph's and St. Mary's hospitals in Superior, WI, particularly enjoying her time in the pediatric ward. In 1968, Mary Pat was crowned 'Belle' of St. Mary's Hospital as part of its 75th anniversary celebration.
She was a member of the Legion of Mary, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and St. Francis Catholic Church.
Mary Pat loved to dance. Any event that included music found her on the dance floor. She spent many an hour assisting in the planning of Cathedral High School class reunions. She will be remembered for making the best oriental "weird" salad for family gatherings. Above all, she loved her family and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Mary Pat is survived by her son, David (Tara) Jacobson, Grand Rapids, MN; granddaughter, Zoey; sister, Cele (Bill) Koenig, South Range, WI; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and special grand-dog, Roxie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Andre St. Amour; and ex husband/friend, Gordon T. Jacobson, all of Superior.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aspen Health and Rehab and Essentia Hospice for the care and attention they provided Mary Pat.
A Celebration of Life for Mary Pat will begin at 5 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue in Superior and will continue until a brief Memorial Service at 7 PM with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as officiant.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery on July 18, 2024 at 1 PM with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski officiating.
