Mary Jane Jones, 87, a lifelong resident of New Castle, passed away October 9, 2025, at Addison Place.
Mary was born May 22, 1938, in New Castle to the late James and Esta (Braton) Swim. Mary married the love of her life Arthur "Andy" Jones on July 28, 1955. They were happily married for 67 years and members of the First Assembly of God. Mary retired from Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit. She and Andy spent their time traveling and enjoying the winters in Nevada. She loved to play on the beach with her great grandsons and visit National Parks across the western United States.
Mary is survived by her children Bobbi Godby, Jerry Jones, Steve (Rhonda) Jones, Time (Vicki) Jones, Jeremy (Angie) Jones, grandchildren Christy (Lance) Knotts, Jennifer (Will) McMahon, Jessica Weaver, Josh (Tara) Jones, Katie Jones, Stephanie Roberts, Casey Seango, and Samantha Jones as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Jones, brothers Gene Swim, Paul Swim, Richard Swim and Jr. Swim, sister Doris Pennicuff, granddaughter Kyna Jones and son-in-law Joe Godby.
The family would like to give a big thank you to the staff at Addison Place and Aseracare Hospice team. Thank you, Angie and Danielle, for your dedication to the time and care of our mother.
A funeral to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Rose City Funeral Home 2011 Broad Street New Castle, IN 47362. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at South Mound Cemetery – Westlawn Addition, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Assembly of God Shepherd's Door Food Pantry 3600 S. Memorial Drive New Castle, IN 47362.
