Mary Kusz

Mary J. Kusz, 93, of Waterville, Ohio passed away September 6, 2024. She was born October 5, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Norman "Ted" and Mary (Murphy) Fox. She married Sparky Surowiec and he preceded her in death. She later married Felix Kusz and he preceded her in death.
Mary loved playing the organ while her father played the banjo at Kold Keg. She enjoyed volunteering for many years at St. Luke's Gift Shop. She was a member of the Whitehouse American Legion, Maumee Elks, St. Luke's Auxiliary and the last surviving charter member of the Delta Eagles.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Katherin Russell of Swanton, Ohio and Judy (Butch) Kujawski of Whitehouse, Ohio, sister Dawn Hertzfeld of Waterville, Ohio, grandchildren Kerry (Todd) Adams, Erik Kujawski and Kevin (Jennifer) Kujawski, great-grandchildren Brittany Whitten, Riley Tolson, Aiden Hicks, Caitlin Kujawski and Nicklas Kujawski and great-great-grandchildren Leah Adams and Aubree Adams.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Sparky and Felix, sister Carol Vaughan and grandson Billy Crawford.
Private services will be held with burial at Roth Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home in Waterville, Ohio.
