Mary Margaret Lacy

Mary Margaret "Muggins" Lacy (Crawford), age 74, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado. Born on December 16, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mary lived a life filled with faith, family, and unwavering love for those around her.

Mary dedicated her professional life to the medical insurance industry, where she worked diligently and compassionately. Yet it was in her personal life where her true light shone brightest. She was a devoted wife to Jim Lacy and a loving mother to her daughter Amy Zink (Cooper) and her husband Scott Zink and son Andy Cooper. She also embraced her role as stepmother to Mark Lacy and Wendy Lacy with warmth and grace. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is also survived by her loving Mother, Virginia Kunkel and sisters Wendi Reger, Kim Collagen, Debbie Clemens and brother Bill Crawford.

A woman of deep faith, Mary was full-hearted in her Bible and her beliefs in Jesus Christ. Her devotion extended far beyond personal practice-she was deeply involved in her church community and led many to Christ through Bible studies and by living out the love of Jesus in everyday moments. Her actions spoke volumes; she loved everyone as Jesus would, offering kindness without hesitation and compassion without condition.

Mary's kitchen was often the heart of both her home and church. An extraordinary cook and baker, she poured love into every dish she prepared. Whether hosting holiday family/friends gatherings or preparing treats for church events, Mary's culinary creations were always made with care-and often with a big pinch of love. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, especially during cherished times spent camping, hiking, walking her dog, dancing, singing, gardening and enjoying quiet moments of reflection and spending such treasured times with her multiple friends.

She is preceded in death by her father William Crawford and her youngest brother John Crawford. Their memories remained close to Mary's heart throughout her life.

Mary's smile could warm any heart; she radiated joy that uplifted all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were always at the center of her world-her love for them was boundless and evident in every word and deed. She will be remembered not only for the meals she lovingly prepared or the scriptures she faithfully studied but for the way she made others feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Faith Church at 2707 Wilson Ave in Loveland on October 20, 2025 at 11:00am.
