Ruth Jo Wert, 78, of Loveland, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025 after a fight with acute myeloid leukemia. Ruth was born on December 2, 1946 to Joe and Verna Ruzicka in Ord, Nebraska. Ruth graduated from Ord High School in 1965, then worked as a personal banker for 26 years.

Ruth met Douglas Wert, the love of her life and husband of fifty-eight years, in 1961 when they were freshmen in high school. After graduating, they married on August 1,1965, and were blessed with two beautiful children, Michael and Kelly Jo.

After retiring, Ruth and Doug traveled the United States and beyond by land and sea in their motor home and on several unforgettable cruises. They followed and supported the activities of their beloved grandchildren, enjoyed several winters in Casa Grande, Arizona, and spent time with all the cherished friends they made along the way.

Ruth loved traveling, preparing meals for her family, and bridge.

Ruth is survived by her son Michael (Tina) Wert, her daughter Kelly Jo (Charlie) Ross, four grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter, and the great love she had for them all.

I'm shocked to learn this news. I talked to Ruth the end of July & she never mentioned cancer. Always such a strong lady. I'm so very sorry for your loss! She opened my first savings account for me when I was 10 & she knew my family. We had lots of good times together when I later worked with her in the banking world. She was a hard worker, excellent napper& big sweetheart. I'm so thankful we have stayed in touch through the years. Glad she is with Doug now & not suffering. She will always be my Ruthie
