Mary Lou Rizza

Mary Lou (Polance) Rizza, 86, of New Britain, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday (December 31, 2024) at the Hebrew Home in West Hartford. Special thanks to all the staff for their care and kind words. Born in New Britain, she was a graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1957. Mary Lou worked for over 30 years at Black & Decker and later as a bookkeeper at Ron's Automotive in Berlin until her retirement in 2019. Mary Lou was a member of the Farmington Avenue Baptist Church in West Hartford.
Surviving are two daughters, Junia Rizza Abramczyk of New Britain and Elizabeth Tamayo and her husband Rafael of Whitinsville, MA; four grandchildren, Melissa Landrie and Nicole Fournier of Phoenix, AZ, Caleb Fournier of Whitinsville, MA and Korileigh Fuentes and her husband David of Newington; four great grandchildren, Alayna and Jaydon Fuentes, Caylea and Aja Landrie; three great great grandchildren, Kenzo, Phoenix and Rio; several nieces and nephews; a brother, Kenneth Polance and his wife Beverly of New Britain; a sister, Judith Berarducci of Port St. Lucie; Florida. Mary Lou was predeceased by a great grandson, Christian Abramczyk a brother, William "Billy" Polance Jr. and lifelong friend Reuben Rizza.
Funeral Service are private. There are no calling hours. Burial will in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers (T2T.org).
