Joseph E. Koziol

Joseph E. Koziol, 73, of Kensington, husband of Martha Jean (Fletcher) Koziol, passed away peacefully Tuesday (January 14, 2025). Born in New Britain, son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Gadowski) Koziol, he lived in New Britain most of his life and moved to Kensington in 1994. He was a graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1970. He worked as a metrologist for 25 years at Stanadyne in Windsor, and concluded his career as a LPN at Adelbrook in Cromwell. He enjoyed retirement at his beach house in Westerly Rhode Island, making many new friends and adopting the name "Ocean Joe" in his community. Joe was a former member of the Polish Boy Scouts and the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain, often sharing many wonderful memories. He was thankful to the City of New Britain for allowing him to participate in many athletic programs where he learned great sportsmanship.
Besides his wife Jean, he leaves a son, Benjamin Koziol of Middletown; two daughters, Emily Morelli and her husband Jared of Kensington and Hannah Koziol of New Britain; two grandchildren, Bryce and Natalie Morelli; a sister, Theresa Furmanek and her husband Joseph of New Britain; and two nephews, John and Christopher Furmanek.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (January 18, 2025) 11 AM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Calling hours are immediately before on Saturday, 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain, 150 Washington Street, New Britain, CT 06051.
