Mary was born in Boston, MA, on May 3, 1948, to the late Joseph L. and Bertha (Cadran) Shurtleff.
Mary grew up in Lowell and attended Lowell schools. She was formerly employed by Honeywell, Wang Laboratories, Tewksbury State Hospital, and the Bedford VA.
She is survived by a son Jonathan Riley and his wife Amber of Manor, TX, her grandchildren Frank and Rita Riley, her sister Leona Smith of Tyngsboro, her nieces Karen Macarlane and husband Keith of Boulder, CO, and Donna Shurtleff of Dracut, MA, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She was sadly predeceased by her brothers Joseph Shurtleff and George Cadran, and her sister Gladys Bennett.
Per her wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA.

Mary has been a great sister-in-law and friend to me. We have been able to celebrate so many special occasions together, along with supporting each other during difficult times. I will miss our phone calls so much. As my daughter Debbie told us, goodbye is not for forever, it is just that I will miss you until we meet again.

Deepest condolences to Mary's family. We hung around together when we were in middle school. She was so much fun to be around. Always had a smile on her face. I use to go to her house to meet her to walk to school together. She had a bird that just love to come after me. So funny Great memories.
