Mary "Granny" Silvers, age 78, of Altapass Church of God Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 22, 1946 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Coy and Lucy Huskins Queen. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn and her son, David.
Mary was a member of the Altapass Baptist Church and was retired from the Brian Center of Spruce Pine. She loved spending time with her family, cooking for them and especially Sunday dinners. She also liked family picnics and birthday parties with her family. She also enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, feeding birds, and feeding her neighborhood furry friend, Ozzie.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Brenda Ellis and husband, Eric 'Bubba' of Boone, Thomas 'Bo' Silvers and wife, Tonya of Spruce Pine and Monica Hughes and husband, Jamie of Bakersville and her grandchildren; Sierra Silvers, Noah Hughes and Jace Hughes.
The funeral service for Mary Silvers will be on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 3:00pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Interment will be in the McKinney Gap Cemetery.
